12-18 Months Before Your Wedding Day

Announce engagement to family & friends

Begin compiling guest list

Go to bridal shows

Apply for passports; always a good idea.

9-12 Months Before Your Wedding Day

Determine a general theme, style and or color

Select and order Bridal attire (Wedding Gown)

Create a wedding web site with guest tracking (WeddingMapper.com)

Select caterer and/or make general menu choices

Select photographer/videographer and confirm with deposit/contract

Select DJ and confirm with deposit/contract

Select florist and confirm with deposit/contract

Select limousine provider confirm with deposit/contract

Select travel agent and discuss honeymoon plans

Select jeweler end discuss wedding bands

Continue planning guest list

Attend more bridal shows

6-9 Months Before Your Wedding Day

Order bridesmaids dresses and mother’s attire in same color scheme

Schedule tasting appointments for cakes, pies or cupcakes

Set appointments with caterer or banquet facility

Select attire for the Groom, groomsmen and fathers

Select and secure location(s) for guest accommodations

Select bridal registries and start shopping

4-6 Months Before Your Wedding Day

Select and order wedding invitations

Select and order wedding cake or deserts

Confirm honeymoon travel plans and confirm passports.

Select beautician or makeup artist, purchase products and begin regimen

Select hair stylist. Schedule consult and trial run appointment

2-3 Months Before Your Wedding Day

Mail wedding invitations

Order tuxedos for groom, groomsmen, fathers and attendants

Talk to all hired professionals to confirm details

Order table Items, i.e., toasting glasses, cake knife and server and Cocktail napkins

Plan bachelor and bachelorette parties and rehearsal dinner

1-2 Months Before Your Wedding Day

Obtain Marriage License

Complete final fittings for all attire

Finalize all wedding and reception details, including travel

Meet with key family members and come up with a Wedding Day plan.

Assign tasks like set-up, clean-up, go-to person for wedding professionals and gift transport

Purchase gifts for the Wedding Party and parents

Purchase and pack honeymoon attire

Purchase and assemble guest favors and any remaining table decoration

Schedule a spa day for the bride and her girls as a fun treat

2-3 Weeks Before Your Wedding Day

Confirm the final catering count and notify caterer and the facility

Attend final appointments with all hired professionals

Make final payments as needed

Secure marriage license with other wedding documents

Pick up travel tickets, passports and traveler’s checks – pack in honeymoon bags

Pick up wedding bands; be sure to check fit before packing with ceremony items

Pick up all bridal attire and check fit

Attend Bachelor or Bachelorette parties

Order the next month of prescription medications early and pick up from pharmacy

Send out Rehearsal Dinner invitations

Finalize seating arrangements; consider inviting both families to dinner for their Input

One Week Before Your Wedding Day

Take marriage license to officiate at the rehearsal

Prepare gratuity envelopes for professionals and designate

Prepare in-room gift baskets for restrooms

The Day Before Your Wedding

Take the Day off from work

Pick up and try on all Groom, Groomsmen, fathers, and ushers attire

Treat yourself to a relaxing manicure and pedicure

Check travel documents for any last-minute changes and confirm travel schedule

Confirm marriage license has been delivered to officiate

Drop off items at hotel, church, parents homes, and reception site as needed

Make time to eat a good dinner

Your Wedding Day

Eat a well-balanced breakfast and lunch if possible

Drink water and eat snacks throughout the day

Give wedding rings to designated person for the ceremony

Dress at least 2-4 hours before the ceremony is scheduled

Bring water and hard candy everywhere you go to maintain your energy

Relax and enjoy your day – you’ve earned it

After the Wedding

Mail out personal thank you cards

Change legal name(s) on driver’s license, vehicle titles, banking, social security and etc.

Pick up photographs and videos

Have bridal gown professionally cleaned and boxed for storage
